As stated in the title, i finally got my dream phone!! nokia 6230 in case u dunnoe yet...there's much twists and turns that i decided to blog it haha...as mentioned in an earlier blog, i have this starhub $100 discount voucher that stated clearly that it cld only be used in starhub shops namely the PS, tampines mall and UOB centre ones...and the prx of the hp there is $428 way above my budget..so xmas day itself, i wish for some miracle as i scan the straits times for hp ads... n there it was! a starhub outlet featuring the phone at $298 but its at partner outlet toa payoh. so i called the starhub hotline and asked whether its really confirmed that my voucher cant be used at those partner outlets and the operator said yah...in the midst of disapptment, i saw another ad featuring a roadshow at Jurong Point stating that starhub vouchers can be used there so I got my boyfriend to make an inquiry at the roadshow for my phone and i heard the best news of the day that i cld use my voucher and that the roadshow sells the phone at $298 hee... coz im having terrible sore throat i din go immediately and waited for the next day... an di did the stupid thing of calling singtel to terminate my existing line in the hope that they will give me freebies to retain this loyal customer of 4 yrs...but NO lo...the operator coolly told me that it will take 3 working days to terminate my line...chey..
So, on the next day (sunday) i went to JP to sign up for the phone with regrets of termination since i forgot that i can do number retention... and i received the terrible news from my boyfriend (who went there earlier) that my phone is out of stock!...However....when i went to ask that sales guy, he said there's 2 more pieces left...hahahah false alarm...guess he dun reallie like my boyfriend or coz he asked too many qns le...haha Anyway i quickly sign up for the new line and the whole process took ard half an hr or more with him filling up forms and setting up the phone for me to recieve mms and etc... and finally at ard 145pm i made my 1st call with my brand new phone wahahaha.... However the stupid thing is the salesperson say i cant do no. retention at the roadshow and had to go to any starhub shops to do that which i think is ok at the mmt as i haven called singtel to cancel my action of termination ha... so with that my existing line is still alive and working. The rest of the day was spent exploring the phone and trying to transfer my mp3 music into the 32mb card..which is simply nt eunff..planning to get a 256mb card soon..
the frustrating thing is that when i called starhub hotline again this time to ask abt no. retention the person actually say i cant do anything now since i nvr did that during the pt of sign-up.. this is so ridiculous that different ppl r telling different stuff and MOST of the time the hotline operators are telling me the crap and wrong stuff.. i dun believe her at all and called a nearby starhub outlet at bukit panjang plaza(i realised later that every outlet say starhub vouchers cld be used there and they r selling at 298 too...) to ask abt it, the gal said they cant do it at their shops but i cld go to PS to apply. THis... i believe haha...
So off i went to PS the next day (tuesday) and finally settled everything though i have to wait for 5 days to activate my starhub account coz mine was signed up at a roadshow and another 7 working days to apply for no. retention... so in the end, i had to wait till 12th or 13th Jan due to the holidays and weekends for my old line to be terminated finally.
I guess all these mafan-ness cld be compensated with the fact that i finally got my dream phone haha...a rather senseless blog haha but juz a record for the troubles of getting it..

Xmas Eve gathering
i tot i wun be going out on xmas eve, since im nt feeling too well with a sore throat and my boyfriend & me were busying trying to 'level up' in maplestory (an online game)ha...but my twin called me on thusday and asked me if i wld be free to meet up fo dinner on xmas eve. So i agreed since i wun be the one org it ha..but she meant it as a small gathering (which limits to wad her car cld carry ha) so there's onli 5 of us, out of the original 6 she proposed( my best friend was not feeling well with her headaches n so cld nt join us)
we met at clementi ard 540pm and drove to changi yacht club, this time with much success compared to the previous time we went there ha..CY was aslep the whole journey and when we were stopping at the Changi yacht club carpark to get the pass, she suddenly woke up n tot we reached le and open her side of the door..we were stunned b4 bursting out in laughters haha. We got there b4 7pm in time to see the beautiful sun set and of course the frequent air planes flying past. The waiter brought us to an outdoor table near the small hut where they display their fresh seafood for ppl to order. this is surely my 1st time dining on a sandy grd andso near the sea ha...We took some photos with those rocks by the seaside and went to examine the fresh seafood, saw this really HUGE prawn that jimmy made a comment that the prawn muz haf felt real sad to grow this big and yet cant upgrade to a lobster ha... we settled for sting ray though and ordered kai lan, foo yong egg, beef with garlic and mee goreng. the food was good like last time thou the beef was not as good as the venison we ate last time. we ordered desserts, fried pandan ice-cream? forgot the name le and banana split which tasted good too. overall, we spent ard 20 bucks each and sat there till 9pm while chatting.
I din noe that this is sorta of a farewell dinner for jimmy too who is leaving on tuesday 28th coz i had always tot that he's leaving in january haha... so we were talking abt how he is going to adapt there and of coz if he is going to continue maple story over there hahaha...after we settled the bill ( with JJ's new OUB ladies card yeah) we went to the playgrd n played on the swings. its damn funny to hear CY screaming when jimmy went to push her coz she was remaining on grd level haha..she said she'a afraid of hts haha...guess im the onli fearless female ard on the swing since the queen of daredevil acts is nt ard haha(WJ).
Next gotta decide where to go for countdown, while jimmy was promoting his west coast park me tot of going geylang for soya bean curd (yummy)...but when we passed by east coast park, jj made a decisive turn into it and wala! we discoverd the IN place with tents and 24hr partying...there's cars everywhere and ppl n tents!!! It took us quite awhile to find a parking lot and jimmy the instructor had to direct the parking personally for JJ to safely parked her car in the challenging slot haha.
WE settled down in one the cafes there Gelare cafe and stayed down till countdown which is really nothing as ppl ard continue to eat their steamboat and sipping their beer or coffee. but east coast park has realli become a IN place as there are so many campers ard. however the toilets cld have been better, the old gruanchy uncle attendent at the toilet was so fierce when he collected our 20c and his toilet aint very clean in the 1st place. pissed....
Finally we were on our way home after repeated toilet trips from drinking too much water at ard 1245am and since my home is nearest to JJ im the last drop. im so sleepy by the time i returned home ard 2am. But this is one cosy xmas countdown which i truly enjoyed and will remembered it.

Wild Wild Wet
As reflected by the title of the blog, i went to Wild wild Wet @ Downtown East with my boyfriend yesterday(wed)...out of no special reason other than coz we had complimentary tix heee... Although the sun was glaring strong yest, we had definately chosen a wrong date to go coz we simply forgotten its the SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!!!! i nearly fainted when im welcomed by the sight of screaming kids running everywhere when we reached ard 2plus. i tot the place opens at 1pm but since its the school hols, it open 10am daily and closed on tuesday ha...in case u wanna go.
abit of detour here, we reached at such an hr coz we went to PS b4 that to check out my dream phone. As mentioned in my previous blog on the Xmas gathering, my dream phone was nowhere to be seen on the starhub ads and i suspect it is a big conspiracy!! once they sent out those $100 and $200 mobile phone vouchers to their customers, Starhub then removed all those better models from its promotion... my dream phone nokia 6230 was advertised at $298 prior the week and now it cost $428 coz its no longer under promotion and even with my $100 discount voucher i still need to pay 328 bucks...which i tink its nt very worth it now that all the free gifts r gone too...sad.... n my present operator singtel sells 6230 @ $368 a frozen tag since dunnoe when...sad... so much for a xmas present for myself..im still stuck with my monophonic bluish-green 6510(but i still quite like it after using it for 2 yrs and 2 mths) see how things go by the end of the yr.
back to wild wild wet, after being horrified at the entrance, we tried to make our way in to find the changing rooms and i tink its quite duh to situate the KFC outlets between the female and male changing rooms, i had to walk all the way across those ppl queeuing up in my swim suit ( although the whole place is filled with pple half naked haha with bikinis and such) to reach the locker area. by the time we were ready for some wild wet time, its already 3pm i tink and the best part is when we wanted to redeem our free rental of floats the person told us that we still need to pay a refundable $ 5 deposit!! when all our stuff are in the locker le.... think there's really bad svs at the chaotic place as other pple in the Q are clearly frustrated by the way these temp workers serve customers.
So we decided to forgo the floats and went to soak at the shiok river which is juz an extended verison of wad u can find in newer neighbourhood swimming pools and also the wave pool. we started Q at the Slide Up after 330pm and waited for almost 1 hr in the Q for our turn. If u had watched the celebrity challenge variety show on channel 8 hosted by Desmond Koh a couple months ago, u will remember this huge U shaped thingy where 2 pple facing each other sat onto the float and slide down. its real sleepy waiting for ur turn that by the time when u walked up to the top, u will be too sianz to feel excited. esp when there is pair of sisters b4 us, tink both in primary sch or at most the elder one in lower sec. the younger sister din pass the ht requirement and both of them r too light for the ride , but since the older sister was so keen for the ride after Q for so long, the ah-lian looking operator (there r 2) ask for a lone rider to come up to have the ride with the little gal. Up came this er-sin and plumb looking boy tink ard 14/15 yr old with his friends(there r 3 of them so he had to ride alone, but he was simply too crude and rude) Coz the ride require the couple to sit facing each other on the float, legs wide open such that the person's legs are clammed under the other person's armpits and the 2 of them muz sit as close as possible, with the 2 ah-lians shouting at them to 'sit up'. So...it was quite an obscene and erm..suggestive posture that the boy kept shouting " so suay" blar blar...n his friends (who's behind me n my boyfriend) kept laughing n shouting...Poor gal who looked so red and paiseh, muz be so tramuatised by that horrible fat pig than the ride itself. the ah lian operator did her share of scolding n i tried to join in abit to shut the boy's mouth. although i did thought of me doing the ride with the gal, my boyfriend wld surely kill me for pairing him up with that fat kid. all i can do was to offer my sympathy for the poor little gal.. N all the fiasco had wasted alot of time lor!! Now i noe why we had to Q so long... there's no1 to ensure the ht req is met esp when there's so many kids, and the operators r all so ya-ya kinda....sigh...
when its our turn, i muz say the ride is damn scary with ratings as close as any other rollar coaster or thrill rides i had been (nt that i been to many) this is so different from other thrill rides, coz u r nt strapped to the seat or wad, u simply had to hold on to the float handle for dear life, and for a split second, i tot we r lifiting off ground and floating on air! i closed my eyes when its my turn to face the down trust from the highest pt and cld barely scream....ha But the ride cld be longer to compensate for long waiting time....this is a muz try ride if u visit wild wild wet.
after the 5 star thrill ride, we went to Q up for the 2 star family kinda sky rider which is basically a bicycle on air as in a monorail up in the sky. It doesnt look scary at all until u finally ride on it, it seems like u r ready to fall out any mmt into mid air... so thats y i gave it a 2 star rating. haha...after the simple ride, we went to Q up for 1 last ride the tunnel slide ride which is again an extended knida from the swimming pool, there was an embarrassing incident that happened to me IN the tunnel that i wun carry on with the details here hahaha....
we went to the jacuzzi pool n beat the crowds to the toilet b4 closing time and i had quite a lucky day with toilets coz i somehow beat the Q and found an empty shower. Anyway to conclude the whole wet day: Never go to wild wild wet during the school hols! if u want to spend half or more of ur stay there in Qs.....
Its really a tiring day for a person like me who hardly exercise....zzzzzz

Xmas Party @ Strand Hotel
The much anticipated Xmas gathering came and went over the weekend and i muz say its quite enjoyable than expected. Although the waiting part in the hotel room b4 dinner was abit boring but it shld be worth the wait haha...dinner was ok at Piazza the restaurant at the stretch outside the Dobhy Ghuat MRT. Coz we were seated in a striaght row, there aint enuff interaction from one end of the table to the other.
For the record, Jimmy, Zan, Yuanfeng, Me, Momo, Fangyi, Lian, Ruth, Guishan, PeiE, Jiajie, Yingyi,Weijin, Caiying, Minghui were present for the dinner. Half the time (or perhaps most of the time) the conversation at my end of the table was contributed by fangyi and her pen pal stories and also some discussion on martial arts and movies blar... N Jimmy was trying so hard to get his plastic cover out of his brand new nokia 6260. that reminds me of my dream phone nokia 6230 coz of the starhub roadshow juz outside the restaurant...but it seems to be out of stock when i finally want to buy it!!! anyway i tink 6260 is abit too big and flip phones dun realli appeal to me...oh yah, he bought that mainly coz of the Tri-band function so that he could use the phone in US, Seattle (leaving on 28th Jan 2005 for half a yr) Heard that PY is back for a week but we din noe abt the news until minghui said she spotted her in NTU. PY is now having s short stint (tink 3 weeks?) attachment in a KL hospital.
Dinner last till ard 9pm and the topic of wad to do next arise, there's the options of KTV, movie, drinks and we decided to buy some drinks back to the hotel room which is within walking distance from PS. We bought 1 bottle of volka, 4 bottles of bitterlemon thingy and 1 bottle of 7-up to mix. those who cant stay over left by then (ruth, yingyi, guishan) and the rest headed back to the hotel room for some 'happening' hours ha...shall spare the details here coz another blogger had the details there ha... 1 comment abt the room though, though its big and spacious, it certainly lacks the fine wall finishes and the TV is a bit too small ha..and there is no hot water!!!
but nt bad for an afforadable nite out with a big grp of friends. Jixian came ard 10plus with the much awaited plastic cups and poker cards. after some rowdy time posing for pics, Jixian told us she wld be going to the States Sans Francisco for a yr on a maketing job..perhaps she cld meet up with jimmy over there. Tried to watch the last episode of Summer Scent though interrupted by vommiting jin, but the show was realli slow and lamy towards the end that im glad for the distractions ha...
anyway by 4am every1 was fast asleep other than Jixian and fangyi who went for an early morning 'walk'? and some food i guess. and im really slpy and tired even though i woke up at 10 plus later. checked out ard 11am and went kopitiam for breakfast n met yingyi there. Headed home for more zzzzz....
thats abt it abt the Xmas gathering, though i expected some akwardness due to the recent email feedback, it was contrary to what i tot...i guess that is how 2A gathering works heee.... N its always fun to meet up with old friends and do silly stuff. A big thank u to all those who had turn up and Fangyi n Lian for facilitating this hotel arrangement!

Dinner last till ard 9pm and the topic of wad to do next arise, there's the options of KTV, movie, drinks and we decided to buy some drinks back to the hotel room which is within walking distance from PS. We bought 1 bottle of volka, 4 bottles of bitterlemon thingy and 1 bottle of 7-up to mix. those who cant stay over left by then (ruth, yingyi, guishan) and the rest headed back to the hotel room for some 'happening' hours ha...shall spare the details here coz another blogger had the details there ha... 1 comment abt the room though, though its big and spacious, it certainly lacks the fine wall finishes and the TV is a bit too small ha..and there is no hot water!!!
but nt bad for an afforadable nite out with a big grp of friends. Jixian came ard 10plus with the much awaited plastic cups and poker cards. after some rowdy time posing for pics, Jixian told us she wld be going to the States Sans Francisco for a yr on a maketing job..perhaps she cld meet up with jimmy over there. Tried to watch the last episode of Summer Scent though interrupted by vommiting jin, but the show was realli slow and lamy towards the end that im glad for the distractions ha...
anyway by 4am every1 was fast asleep other than Jixian and fangyi who went for an early morning 'walk'? and some food i guess. and im really slpy and tired even though i woke up at 10 plus later. checked out ard 11am and went kopitiam for breakfast n met yingyi there. Headed home for more zzzzz....
thats abt it abt the Xmas gathering, though i expected some akwardness due to the recent email feedback, it was contrary to what i tot...i guess that is how 2A gathering works heee.... N its always fun to meet up with old friends and do silly stuff. A big thank u to all those who had turn up and Fangyi n Lian for facilitating this hotel arrangement!

Good bye, Alma mater
din expect to post another blog so soon, but here goes..
I've often (maybe nt that often) thought that im some1 who can survive w/o the companion of friends, at least i can easily get by any boring day with my daily dosage of newspapers, tv, games, singing, reading. perhaps a occassional gathering with my friends wld suffice my social needs, then again i dun really have alot of friends, and i hate to make new ones unneccessarily.
So, by default, i can be considered a loner.
Strange enough, by a twist of fate, during my early secondary school days, i was made a welfare rep* by my form teacher. (* a welfare rep was supposed to be in charge of the class's notice boards, organise class gatherings,etc) In some way, that innocent act by my form teacher (whose subject din happened to be on my fave list back then...ha BUT she is the only teacher that i (attempt to) kept in touch with now) changed something in me.
Obviously, im nt an artistic person so there's nothing i cld do abt those notice boards. So i tried to perform my duties by keeping the class spirits erm...high....
i remembered those failed attempts in getting everyone to participate in the sports day, our newspapers recycling efforts, our 1st class outing, our 1st class chalet and of coz the mini 'graduation' day we had on the last day as a class.... perhaps by now.. . most of the 36 members in my sec 2 class might have forgotten abt all these, But for me, the memories are enough to turn on my taps, esp after last week's visit to my old school. Its due for demolition to make way for a bigger and new bldg to suit the school's expansion plans. I cant describe the feeling exactly, but i really feel that time can change alot of things. sounds cliche but it really do seems like yesterday that i pass through those sturdy school gates for the 1st time as a 13 yr old. the school looks so empty and sad, literally stripped of its glory past now that the workers are pulling whatever they can to clear the bldg. Gone are the school logo and name signages, the auditorium curtains, the blackboards...blar....(n the toilets arent working anymore! luckily i dun need to use it during the 1hr stay) It suddenly hit me now as i type, that perhaps my childhood friendship with my sec 2 classmates is coming to an end juz like the school, coming to see the school at its last dying stage seems to be mirror image for this friendship. I hope to be wrong of coz...and maybe its juz me being dramatic haha....
So, perhaps, im nt that a loner after all.
Or rather that twist of fate had saved me from being a total anti-social loner in my sec school.
Lately, i'm in a state of frustration/depression/sianz-ness over my dissertation and the 'pending' issue with my best friend. perhaps the main reason behind my complaints on those org difficulties came from that fact that i cant feel much support from my best friend and also other close friends. Me, being a loner, always wait for things to happen, and hardly contact them and maintain the friendship.
Maybe this is a 'retribution' for me in a way coz the same thing happened to me when it comes to org class gatherings. the usual suspects will always talk n talk, wait and wait for things to happen, if not, better still if it din happen at all. Ironic, ironic, ironic.
guess this is not leading to any good conclusion,

this is my 1st entry as a noob in blog..ha....in case any1 dun noe wad a noob means, it means a newbie ha...i pick that term up after playing Gunbound. anyway i feel i've been addicted to online games like Gunbound and Maple Story, thanks to my younger brother, who had become a fixture in front of his PC. Enough on games and such, actually i started this account coz i wanna comment on the 1st public blog my friend had put up...but i ended up typing my 1st ever public blog too (depending on who gets to know this link though haha).
long heard abt blogging but nvr had the interest and time to try this coz my energy is always diverted elsewhere..tv..games..music..the most dreaded 'D' word (disseratation#*/@#%^) and of course friends and boyfriend.
will keep this short coz i din really noe wad to type now ha...perhaps i will amend it soon (or never??) so that i can finish this step 4 of creating the blog address haha..
