Leave..Leaving...Left

hey.. missed my regular post last weekend as we were having our 'reunion dinner' at shan's place.. ha.. though it's more of a TV switching session to view shan's wedding dvd, project superstar finals (sorry lian.. to miss ur tkd performance) and of coz the soccer finals between thailand and spore.
lemme think..significant events during these 2 weeks.. other than the reunion dinner n normal work stuff (i broke my OT record once again...) and the rather 'high' nite after my contractor's annual dinner (had the weirdest journey to st james to meet tart and nest..).. THE highlight of the weeks/month muz be the arrival of my new baby!!! N80 IE version!! heez...

Ordered it online and switched telco to M1 so that means i'm having a new no... i had this habit of saving my sms into my laptop so was trying my best to 'back-up'/save all the sms i've saved these yrs b4 installing the new nokia software...but alas!! dun really know how this software works in the messenging function.. cant really save my sms properly into the comp and vice versa...sianz... been exploring the phone for 1 whole day liao.. so far still ok thou have slight complaints of the phone not having repeat alarm function (Time to get a real alarm clock) and music player cant change song with the earpiece... shortcuts r weird too.. too many buttons to press to get to the thing u want.. on the pro side.. i can surf the net quite alright coz using my own router network.. so gotta test it out on the road tmr.. trying to get used to my new phone...

N lotsa of pending stuff ahead for the busiest week of the month... pple ard me r all leaving... gotta brace myself for the emo month to come yet again..

I Believe Myself

抬头看远方的星光
悄悄的照亮 幸福的方向
紧抓着梦的翅膀 穿越漫长黑夜的荒凉
看见你在前方

拥抱我 一天天累积着感动
在心中 温暖了我的天空
I Believe Myself 做最完美的我
在风雨中我会看见你珍贵笑容
I Believe Myself 裹着伤敢的痛
你会陪着我直到最后阳光闪动
I Believe

心愿等待一个时机
成全梦想的美丽 绽放在手心
我等待相遇的奇迹
所以用力呼吸
翻越你的足迹

流浪在未知的路上
也许偶而会彷徨
但心中渴望的力量让我不停飞翔

My song for the week, not becoz of project superstar male finalist, and for the record i prefer Shi Xinhui's version (thou this song supposed to be from a Jap singer).. Anyway the week that juz passed can be considered quite a happening week for me since I haven been going out for the past couple of weekend.

Monday was 'team-bonding' day for me as I went to the site meeting with my mdm.. its the 1st meeting of the year we went together...since I have been going to meetings alone more frequently. So I'm really cherishing the times where there's her companion... since what the future (work path) holds is still uncertain at the moment. After the meeting ends, the architect started chatting with her on the duration they had stayed in the present company, he suddenly shot me a remark jokingly that I shld stay in my company for long (so as to take care of the project till completion). I juz smiled and didnt say anything coz that was exactly what i was thinking about when i went to another project with Boz last week. Will I really stay that long till the completion of these projects? (sure hope my mdm's still around then) Guess I will have to consider my career path seriously after apprasial this year. Worked OT as usual but its the 1st time i shared cab with team member and the cabby we met was really weird.. he was preaching to me, quite agitatedly for the whole journey on the importance of religion...

Spent Tuesday and Wednesday OT on the editing of the team gathering photos taken, using the Picasa2 software - didnt realise that there is this interesting fuction of 'collage', combing 2 or more photos to grids, or random photo piles..thou cant control the layout, but cant complain much since this is a freeware. Twin sugg dinner so i asked her to get pple to come to my area instead so i can meet them for after-dinner drinks where it's Kandi bar again with twin, CY & lian. Learnt abt lian's expensive proposal at HK, real romantic and sweet but her only concern was the $ spent haha.. typical auntie lian.. learnt abt a few other updates while i oso updated them abt my recent happenings.. since i guess they never read my blog ha!

Mama told me someone sent a book to me in our mailbox, 'the girls' guide to surviving a break-up' with a post-it note saying that its's from 'a friend'... as of now, i still dunnoe who's this friend, so some points noted here with the following clues:
1. the person shld be my sec school friend, since my 'real name' and my home address is known.
2. the person shld be a girl?? coz the book doesnt exactly look brand new with the pages abit yellowish at the sides..a hand-me-down book?
3. ther person juz assumed my family knew abt it.. which my close friends know that i haven really informed them..
Anyway, to answer the 'friend', I've been reading quite frequently recently thou its books from the same authors. (Author of 'P.S. I Love You' and the one who wrote the shop-coholic series) Juz bought the latest book 'the place called here' so i guess this will take precedence from the guidebook, since i have passed the most difficult period.. i hope.. at least i have done things, that's similar to what's prescribed in the guidebook, to help me get over the 1st few days, weeks, and months..maybe will see if i can find anything in this book on coping with 'the drastic after-math news' and move on faster..

Nest sugg going to the opening of the lastest Sentosa beach pub 'Cafe De Mar' on friday, so we cabbed there after OT with tart and another of nest' friend.. the pub is interesting in a way coz its juz beside the beach and the whole atmosphere is very laid-back and causal since there's alot of beach wear pple..but we didnt find it too appealing to us and left after walking ard.

Yest. was the most packed Saturday i had in months.. Went to the mosque groundbreaking ceremony (the 1st i attended) and was quite an experience.. the women and men were seated separately and same goes for the Q for food after the ceremony. I think im really the ONLY non-malay female there and the pple there actually asked me to join the men Q instead.. was quite worried if i accidentally do something which is a taboo to them.
Went KTV with twin, pei e and CY at Dynasty thou CY only joined for less than 1/2 hr and pei e left early.. still had a fun time with twin as we duet the song '解脱‘with great rapport, maybe coz of wad we both r facing at the mmt..
Met Wj, momo, lian, yy n hubby for dinner at Vivo before we went over to St James. momo and lian nt in party mode (yy n hubby r by default farmers.. ha), so were 'replaced' by GS and dee. Went to this 'boiler room' which everyone calles it 'Tiger Live' instead ha!.. The performance there by the live band and HOt-looking girls r not bad.. thou the band's really too loud..The nite out ended abruptly when the waiter came over and 'accused' us of occupying a reserved table.. humph! It's their own fault for not telling us that we gotta give up the tabe once their 'guests' arrived...

Pretty Babes @ 'Tiger Live'!

Spent the whole of sunday catching up my sleep and trying to sort out the photos... that's really alot to organise and edit since im quite 'obessed' with making my photos look interesting with Picasa. guess that wld be the same for the week to come since its' gonna be my sis's BIG DAY..
the fact that she is going to leave our house 'for good' only hit me when i was 'stealing' clothes from her wardrobe yesterday......i guess i will really miss my sister.. and her clothers.. :)

Alone in Love

Another rainy week...the weather has really gone cranky these days.. I guess i have survived this week without any major breakdown.. other than the 'crisis' at work on Monday and Tuesday (never failed to trouble my superior with countless sms whenever she is on leave).

Went back to school with nest and mceo for a seminar talk on Wednesday, was really fun as we ate new canteen food, looking for our hard bound dissertations collecting dust in IRC and trying to point out the changes here and there... though it was only about 1 year plus since i left school. Anyway, its a very rare 1st time for the 3 of us to be walking around leisurely in 'broad week-daylight' and we can actually have so much 'fun & laughter' shopping at the small bazzar at forum..Da hei came and fetch us home and I actually reached home before 7pm on a weekday.. its juz like returning home after a normal school day for me.. really missed the feeling of coming home at dinnertime and eating a warm dinner as it rained outside.. A simple yet one of my happier days this year.

Thursday was abit weird for me...even my injured neighbour popped over and asked why i was in a bad mood.... I guess i've suddenly hit by a weird thought as i returned from a morning meeting (this project is cursed anyway..) with boz... anyway the day ended with a super low mood - wet, cold and hungry as i tried to catch a cab home in the rain.

The rain continued till Friday but my mood improved as i was distracted by other stuff.. Team member bought a new phone K800i which was delivered to office, so happy for her.. haiz.. think its really time for me to take concrete actions to get my N80 IE version.. Packed up promptly at 6plus to help team member and beauty fang to load stuff into the car for our team gathering. The 3 organisers really put in lotsa of effort and time to do up the stuff and i can only chip in my manual help thou i think they shld get a guy instead ha.. had some difficulty tranporting all those heavy stuff esp the hampers to the function room itself as we have to carry them up the steps and all.. the food wasnt as great as the previous gathering but the games are more interesting and really gets everyone excited and invloved. Overall rating was considered better than the previous one thou i didnt exactly njoyed myself as much.... stayed back to have another round of drinks with the organisers and some others.. the company is abit strange where everyone suddenly become good friends with one another.. perhaps its the alcohol ha..

Originally planned to go out with wj & co. on saturday but plan was postphoned...so might as well finish up my K-drama, "Alone in Love". It's abt a divorced couple who still have feelings for each other but chose to separate due the death of their child. Plot is ok and managed to have me crying at the later episodes, perhaps coz i can really put myself in the shoes of Son Yejin's character.. being alone in love, the loss, pain, loneliness and suffering and the trademark action of feeling her own heartbeat. Her acting's really good.. no wonder she won the best actress for this drama in some Korean TV awards, there's still room for improvement for her singing thou i was touched by her singing scene at her ex-hubby's wedding.

노영심의 "Thank you"
written by Rho Young-shim
sung by Son Yejin in Epsiode 15 of 'Alone in Love'

I think I told you too much
about the unconscious boundless greed in my mind.
I lose my breath before my mind, and my words.
But I have something more to say.
It seemed to me that you wouldn't understand my mind
So I've added new wounds on previous ones again and again.
I'd rather mouth down than hurt each other.
But, I have the last word to tell you.
"Thank you very much."
I don't know why it was so hard for me to say this.
The word I've almost forgotten while coming a long way round.
"Thank you very much."

This entry is getting too long yah... perhaps it's my way to feel my own existence as i reflected on how my days passed.
Let's hope for a bright sunny week to come :)

I will be back

To keep up with one of my new year resolutions, here goes the 2nd post of the yr...

The new year started off with the usual busy workstuff but i'm glad i kept to my target of reaching home 'early' enough to catch the new channel U 10pm drama. Hope I will keep to this 'timeline' for the rest of yr... Catch up with nest and dodo with our 1st drinking session of the year.. been a long long time since we last went out for drinks..not a bad nite out as we checked out the new pubs at CQ (saw our ex-collegue, the most handsome dude there too). Went to this 'Kandi Bar' which they r having this 1-for-1 promotion till 9pm, ordered 2 jugs of vodlka green tea and then another round of drinks, which i ordered chivas on-the-rocks. Not too bad though i switched drinks with dodo halfway ha.. maybe i can try out all those hard liquors on-the-rocks since haven really try them all.

Planned to have a good rest over the weekend since my running nose is still as bad as new yr's eve... but it grew worse after a rather shocking discovery i made when i went online to check my emails...words cant describe how i felt.. not that im going to describe any way... totally unexpected but as wad best friend wj says.. perhaps this is something good for me too, which i agreed but i really really cannot take it at the point of the time... the pain and the hurt.

I will be strong.. i can feel it.. i will be ok....

juz learnt of another sad piece of news from my beloved mdm, that her closed one juz passed away and she'll be on leave for the next few days....my loss is nothing compared to this... I must buck up for the week to come...

i will be back.

1 litres of tears...A New Start

'Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing...Live on'

Not sure if the above quote really comes from the real Aya-chan's diary, but the main idea is there... The year 2006 has been a 'dramatic' year for me and I muz had really shed 'a litres of tears' as i watched Korean's Dae junggeum, Sad love story, Goong and K-movies like 'A moment to remember, Daisy, The Classic....' I thought this wld be a korean-theme yr until i came across the jap-drama '1 litres of tears' and subsequently 'Taiyou no uta'... i muz say jap-drama really aced in the pace and plot and of coz the cast..

Anyway back to the drama that made me shed bulk of the tears (since i cried in almost every episode..), the most touching thing was the diary the main character, Aya, wrote in. From the initial neat handwritting which recorded the start of the high school life she's been anticipating to the increasingly 'in-readible' heart-wrenching words of fears and helplessness...the diary really recorded and traced the short but well cherished life of Aya..

Thought of the 'diary' I have written abt 3 years ago...which recorded the 1 mth i took to complete an 'art-work'. Of coz this is nothing compared to Aya's diary, but it's really amazing to look back and to revisit a 'well-documented' chapter in your life.... the exact feelings and emotions were revived once again and i really didnt know whether i shld cry becoz it's ended or smile and be glad that it had actually happened..guess this somehow rekindle the 'writing spirit' in me (if there's any in the 1st place..)..shall make this one of my new yr resolutions to start with.

Spent the last moments of the year 2006 with myself and clearing my room.... been throwing alot of stuff away, including my complete collection of 'i-weekly' (yah.. guess im a weirdo for collecting them haha).. physical and emotional baggage needs to be emptied every now and then i guessed..to welcome new stuff?? i hope so too...

Some random thoughts and new yr resolutions for 2007:
1) To be strong and healthy
2) To start learning driving
3) To read more and write more regularly..
4) To have a new start...

The year has gone but it has also made us strong.
The path was long but we walked it with a song.
There were fears and tears but we also had reasons for cheers.
Wishing you Happy Memories of 2006 and have a fulfilling 2007.

Mess, messier, messiest

not sure if the above grammer is right.. anyway... it does reflect my current situation....
cant wait for the yr to end (and hopefully bring an end to all these messy situations...)

apologies to best friend for wad happened recently... guess im really not being the usual me.. pls bear with me for the moment.. i will return soon.. i think...

接受。。。

sleepy

As what the title suggusts, I've been sleeping for the whole of this public holiday..Zzzz.. all thanks to the flu medicine. (& the doc has actually asked me whether I prefer drowsiness med or non-drowsy ones... chey.. all medicine will make u sleep bah..)

Guess today's rain has somehow made the sky clearer... and making it a nice day to sleep in! Monday came and passed in a daze for me, wanna to take MC but have to pull myself out of my bed for the morning meeting. The only consoling thing that happened was that my lady boss accompanied me to the meeting (resulting in her cancelling her leave again.. feel so bad.. haiz) or else i wld be at a total loss... Meeting lasted till late afternoon and had lunch at 4pm at Hans, feel like fainting out of hunger and illness. What a messed-up monday, had planned to laze thru the whole day with half of the office on leave...haiz.. luckily nest's smses offered me some kinda of comfort that someone still cares abt if I'm still ok. Went home on the dot to see the doc (who didnt offer me any MC.. humph!) (rhymes ah..ha) and lazed in front of the TV only to doze off..

2006 coming to its end soon... with 2 weddings to attend and 15 days of annual leave to clear. guess i need some shopping and good rest for the new 2007 to come!

A Day to Remember....28 February 2006

Ok, here's my 1st post of the year 2006. Has been wanting to update this ancient blog of mine but tons of excuses and other reasons kept popping up. Well, this should be also a day to remember since this is the 1st time I'm on MC at home (recovering from an infected left eye) and finally blogging.

Hmm… how do I start? I have been in the workforce for 9 months and it’s really a totally different experience from the good old studying days. I guess I’m really blessed to have 3 great schoolmates cum colleagues
with me on this journey. (Namely: Gam, Nest, Dodo & Cash (Me) – U know who u r)

February was a significant month for us as it marks the end of our happy times (in office). Ever since we learnt of Gam’s decision (to leave on the last day of Feb) in January, we’ve been making plans for a crazy ‘celebration’ nite out.

Happier times: Valentine’s Day 14 Feb 2006

Most Memorable Lunchtime Adventure: 17 Feb 2006, in search of 'Shuang Mian'

KTV 24 Feb 2006

But as the month drew nearer to its and reality hitting us hard, me, nest & dodo decided with heavy hearts to commemorate this Gam day with a BANG!

For the 1st time, I went to office on a Saturday (the day after our KTV nite) to retrieve our daily email exchange for the making of my PowerPoint, and proceed to IKEA with Nest to buy our stuff: frames and gift box. The whole day was filled with thoughts of Gam as we planned (at Coffee Club @ HarbourFront) for the series of surprises for her on the 28th. I was really affected (couldn’t decide whether to cry or laugh) as I was doing the slides with our photos and emails.

& The Day Finally Arrived…

After dumping my heavy bag at the workstation at 8.30am, I ran to Nest’s only to see her in a ‘frantic’ state of fixing the screws of gift box with bare hands. Laughing in amusement, I called Dodo (who’s still at home) to bring a ‘spanner’ for screws (but he brought a ‘cutter’ instead at around 8:50am).

Part 1 of the Day: Flowers Attack!

The Star & her Fans….

Nest had ‘risk’ her life to collect the lovely ‘pageant –looking’ bouquet of daisies at 11pm the previous nite and even got a copy of DO (Delivery Order) for us to trick Gam into believing that it’s really delivered to the office. Story behind the flowers: There’s a total of 9 stalks of daisy, signifying the 9 months we spent together and the ‘pageant’-styled wrapping was to honor Gam’s terrific ‘theatre’ expressions all these while. We roped in the help of Rosie, the receptionist to ring Gam to collect the flowers when she arrived. And she really believed that the flowers were delivered to office for her.

Part 2 of the Day: Cash’s MTV Premiere

For our last lunch @ Gam’s desk, Dodo and Nest went to tabao our fave Holland-V Fish soup while Cash lugged her heavy notebook to prepare for the “MTV” premiere (which Gam had thought I’m really gonna perform a rap for her…)

Gam directing Dodo to lay out our Fave Fish Soup

Beauty Fang joined in the fun as we laughed over the slides... Really no appetite to eat lunch that day (thou I ate all the yummy fish), which Dodo felt the same… (Nest finished hers thou! Haha..) Well… there goes our last lunch moment @ Gam’s.

For the rest of the day, Gam kept complaining seeing too much of me as I kept popping over (some are really intentional but some are really not!) as she clear her workstuff (and not having the time to reply to our emails...)

The Final Moment arrived at 6pm and the Final Surprise!

The Flowers & Matching Gift Box

& the Queen made her final exit….with her hands full!!

Opening the Box @ Paragon's Soup Kitchen
Presenting Dodo & his trademark gift of Persimmons, Nest & her sweet cross-stitch of CareBear, Cash & her photoframe (which is not the one from her desk!!)

Mango Desserts @ Shaw Towers' Xu Liu Shan -- Mangoes United!!!

Gam kept us amused with her typical pattern while the rest of us got into depression state…until she presented us with her surprise! Totally unexpected!

Dodo & his Beer

Nest & her Vodka

Cash & her ‘might as well’ Wine

Thanks Gam, for making us the pens with our nicks on it (thou Dodo’s one looked like 4 squares… ha!)

As we reluctantly bade our farewells to Gam, we posed for a Final Shot:

The 3 gals made our way to the bus stops at DFS when suddenly Gam saw her bus 167 and gave chase to it.

Gam having difficulties boarding the bus with her hands full… while Cash & Nest burst into laughter…

Thanks for giving me a last laugh as I went home grinning to myself as I recalled the last scene when we parted. It had been an emotionally drained and physically tired day for me.

Wednesday was a terrible day for us (hmmm… Nest was burning in flames to work hard hard thou) as we tried to get over the day without Gam. Lunch was quieter and the day seemed to pass so slowly…Thursday was better as I was out the whole day with a painful left eye (Tear glands super active on the left? Maybe…) And Friday, which is today, was spent on typing this out and bringing the whole depressing week to a closure.

Time to buck up and get serious with new tasks (in my work) as I’m no longer considered a ‘Noob’ (for definition of the word, please refer to the 1st post of this blog).

Nonetheless... We will be missing ya, Gam!

Graduation Day 13th July 2005

It was a chaotic day.Took so long to get a cab, reached UCC ard 920am (ceremony starts at 10am) and quickly put on the "harry potter" gown and got seated...Only started to feel excited when every1 is seated and the profs walking onto stages in their 'funny' looking gowns and hats!!.. ha..

The national anthem was played... sorta feeling abit emotional here as i sang silently along with the nearly forgotten malay song which was once a song we had to sing almost everyday (in pri and sec, JC days) throughout the whole song, i was reflecting on my past schooling milestone, my 6 sixt years of carefree and merry-making primary sch days... my most important and unforgettable though most stressful sec sch times and the short but sweet JC days... and of coz the most recent and "happening" Uni life with never-ending projects and deadlines to meet... But of coz all these r now (or already) ending with a solemn ceremony that marks the end of my official education. I cld nearly sense a drop of tear in my left eye as the anthem ends..
" This is it... this is the end..." i thought to myself..

Anyway the sentimental moment was gone in a while as we were whisked off by the urshers to the sides of the stage to get ready for that all-important moment. I guess its only abt 10s for you to walk across the 5m distance to reach the frail-looking old uncle who handed us the degree scroll box (actually he shld be some big shot!) Lian got the longest screen time as Prof Chew read out her greatest acheivements as the TOP STUDENT, all the " Woas..." cld be clearly heard from the audience.. Ha.. congrats to u! Lian!

The whole ceremony took abt 45mins and i spent the next 2-3 hrs on photo taking.. with the whole cohort and profs, with the class, with parents, with friends from RE,with workplace new-found friends....N back to my school to take.... It's really a tiring but fun time!

What is Ur Greatest Achievement in Ur Life?

Had wanted to post this earlier on when i was 1st asked this question durng an interview.. but guess i've been too ill-disciplined to update blogs regularly...Alot of things has changed since the last 2 months, at least for me... Finally a proper farewell to my 18 years of schooling (kindergarten included hee..) and getting my 1st job.

It was my 2nd formal interview and i thought it wld be a plain-sailing one. Heard from my friend ( who was employed by the same company ) that the interview was rather simple and short...thus, i was sorta caught off-guard when i was interviewed by 2 guys in a big meeting room...(ok, the room wasnt that BIG ha.. juz seemed so since there's only ME Vs the other 2 sitting opp me) The main interviewer looked somewhat critical and strict, N they didnt really pose me much questions other than saying that my results r quite impressive so i juz smiled along and waited for the next question. He asked " So, Can you tell us more about u? What is Ur Greatest Achievement so far?" I was quite stunned for a moment as i tried to recall those interview tips on how to answer the common questions.. But, mind was in total blank at that point of time.. "hmm.. I guess my greatest achievement so far wld be my academic performance, I have worked hard towards my goals and made my parents proud of me.." That's abt all i cld think of at that moment... obviously, the interviewer's not very satisified with my short answer, coz im nt pleased with my own answers too..

Anyway, the whole interview experience was quite a scary and stressful one as i tried to think of things to say.... Not too sure how I managed to scrape out of that mess, but this question lingers on my mind even till now..

What exactly have I done in my 23 years of time in this world that i can consider it to be my greatest achievement?
I have not compete in a proper sports event (e.g. School Sports Day),
I was never in a leadership position whether in my ECAs or class,
I do not know how to play any music instrument, let alone read music scrolls or composing,
I have not perform (solo) on stage. (since i do not have any special talent..)
I have not climb any mountains other than Bt Timah hill ( N its juz a hill...)
I do not know any 3rd, 4th languages, other than plain old chinese and english...
I have not write my own book. ( while i cant even update my blog haha)
N the list goes on....

As a matter of fact, I'm juz a plain person with no special achievements to speak of... perhaps those listed above r some of my hidden dreams (Erm... not too sure of the climbing mountains one hahah) Maybe It's juz so happens that i have some exam luck that i managed to get those "nice on paper" results and a couple gold medals..Perhaps at least, I have fulfilled my parents' expectations of me. (N myself's too.)

Guess I will have to contine my search for an answer to the question. What's Urs?

"How abt waiting for another 10 years?"

A statement from the tv series "Chase", which ended its run yesterday.

Quite a nice show though i missed the 1st episode which was when the female lead said this line. I guess this's the central theme to this show. Anyway, I've been having mixed feelings lately at the crossroads of my life after finishing my final examinations, taking my 1st flight to an overseas holidays, finding my 1st proper job, meeting up with JC classmates as well as sec school friends... It seems like my otherwise good memory has failed me here and there when I talked abt the good old days with my classmates... Cant really remember this teacher, that supposedly famous schoolmate,etc...Yep. I'm finally past the schooling age. Yet, i don't really feel ready for the never-ending work life.. It's hard to imagine wad life wld be in 10 years' time.. juz like when i was a 13 yr old, I cant imagine wad's like when im 23.. Now i know. I feel OLD! haha..

So, " how abt waiting for another 10 years?" till i find the answer?

I wonder if this blog wld still exist till then wahaha..to be continued..

A nice song from the show " Save Me" written and sung by Corrinne May

Save Me

I drift, I burn, I fly
When you sing lullabies
I'm helpless, I'm yearning
I'm like the putty in your handsI laugh, I dream, I cry
When you take me on a roller coaster ride
You see me through and through
You see just who i am
Just take my hand andSave me from this place
Heaven knows I'm falling
For you, my sweet embrace
Heaven Knows
Heaven knows I've been waiting for you

I had a dream that i
was falling from the sky
At 90 miles an hour
I was bound to crash and die
But out of nowhere you came and rescued me
There must be some grace in the touch of your face
I'm so happy that I've found you
I'm no longer afraid

Oh ' cause you
Save me from this place
Heaven knows i'm falling
For you my sweet embrace
Heaven knows
Heaven knows I've been waitingBefore i met you
Life was slow-mo
So slow-mo
I thought i had it figured out
But you came and turned my whole world upside downSave me from this place
Heaven knows I'm falling
For you, my sweet embrace
Heaven knows
Heaven knows you've come toSave me from this place
Heaven knows I'm falling
For you, my sweet embrace
Heaven Knows
Heaven knows I've been waiting for you
Waiting for you

My 23rd BirthDay

It's been a long time since I last updated on this long forgotten blog which I have half turned it into a photograph hosting website haha... Anyway, took quite alot of photos lately and didnt really have the time to sort them out. According to the Digital Times ( my fave supplement from ST), the new and most importantly FREE photo editing freeware by google, Picasa2, is supposed to be a great software that is comparable to adobe photoshop. Ha...since I nvr used photoshop before, i had no great comments on Picasa2 except it does make sorting and organisation of ur digital shots easier..anyway enough of advertising for them...

As the title suggest...i'm supposed to talk abt my 23rd birthday. Strictly speaking im nt yet 23 yr old officially since my birthday is on 3rd April..anyway i had an early celebration with my 'Twin'JJ at the Thai Village restaurant @ Goodwood Park on 31st March. Think we have been celebrating our birthdays together since our 21st one, the most memorable one so far ha. Food was quite good considering that we din have to pay for it haha since JJ gave us a treat with her voucher. We had a better time pressing the high-tech looking mini control panel on the table to ask for "More Water", "SErvice" , "Order" and of coz "Cancel"( there is also the "Bill" button but we nvr pressed it haha). I guess the buttons r supposed to serve us better but i dun tink its that effective, with waiters taking our tea pots away without returning us... Serving 2 dishes without giving us our Rice....Green Curry Chicken that's taking forever to come... and our teas that's nvr been refilled promptly.. Discussed abit abt our upcoming Bangkok trip which involves me, wj, lian, yf, dee and CY. I guess we will have our great thai food feast over there heeee....looking forward to it!!!! since this will be my 1st overseas trip on a plane...( No Kidding!)

1 more thing to add: Thanks to Lian who make all these efforts to buy us the cake and the presents and of coz WJ (with 2 pending essays to submit the next day), GS ( who's tired frm work), dee (for her present!), CY ( taking time from mugging for exams), YF (with pending projectsss) and esp Twin JJ (who org the whole thing).

Actually, ever since the 21st birthday, I felt quite indifferent to birthdays now...perhaps afraid of growing OLD.... sigh... esp now tt i'm finally going to say goodbye to the good old student days..sobz... Maybe I shld see this day as a day to be grateful to my mama who brought me to Earth haz..Although as compared to my elder sis, mine was considered an easy delivery. somehow feel abit sad to see my mama aged and having aches here and there.. N recently my grandma came to our place to stay over for a week... she seems to have shrank in size and her back is so haunched that she is literally looking at the grd when she walks..and her legs are giving her probs too...sighz...

Juz some random thoughts as i'm abt to approach my quarter-life crisis haha...

Super Unlucky Day Vs Fun Day Out

contradicting title but it's really a day of mixed unluckiness and fun with my best fren today. It started with the alarm i set with my new hp to wake me up at 945am coz meeting wj at clementi Kbox at 1050 for our 11-2pm KTV. though it went off at 945am sharp, its kinda muffled due to the new plastic transparent cover i wrapped over it to protect it from all external elements. So i guess it din wake me up.....until my mum came n asked me if im waking up..gosh its already 1010am...so i quickly got ready n left the hse ard 1030 hoping that i wld be lucky to get onto the bus and reach juz in time since the journey took abt 20-25mins w/o jams. This muz be the worse moment in my long history of bus waiting....the stupid 184 took 15mins to arrive and i board the bus with my most sulkiest face ever at 1047am....there were large crowd of ppl boarding 184 at every bus-stop n i bet every1 muz be late le lo...yet the bus driver was driving so slowly...or perhaps thats my imagination...BUT the worst thingy happened at the bus stop before the beauty world stop...the driver spoke on his hp for a long while with all of us anxiously looking in front to show our displeasure...but since i was listening to my mp3 in my hp, i cldnt catch wad the driver was saying after he put down his phone, its obvious that the bus had BROKE down when all doors burst open n pissed pple went out. It was already 1055am and im stuck in a bus stop nowhere near to clementi and the onli bus to clement is 184....i wanna hail a cab but of coz there r dozens out there flagging for one..so when i saw bus 75 coming, i simply hopped on the bus to take me away from tat unlucky spot....trying to keep a calm head to think of alternative bus to reach my destination.

anyway i alighted at ngee ann poly n din wait for long for 154 to pick me up...i tot my luck has come back...BUT...at the road b4 the bus make a right turn into clementi , it suddenly stopped in the middle of the road.... crossing my fingers to will the bus to kick back into movement..the driver restart the engine n it made some roaring noise for some 30s..b4 it MOVED!! yeah!! i need juz 2 more stops to make it... N if that bus realli broke down...i realli had no idea how to get there..

Finally i reached kbox at 1129am. i tot of climbing the stairs to lvl 2 in case i got stuck in the lift...anyway, the fun ktv session made up for my tedious journey thou i din start out well, i was pleasently surprised to find syz's latest songs Ben, Wo de Ai, Wo ye heng xiang ta and Tong lei. Had a great time singing Ben and laughing coz wj sang abit too slow for the fast paced song..haha..N we even sang an extra 20mins, making up for my lost time there. tink they din realli care abt the timing since the place looked quite empty now that school started.

Wj acc me to sunset way to cut my long long hair (last cut on Aug 04)(actually i was kinda unlucky yest too...coz i came to the salon with my bf onli to find it closed on tuesday!!!) quite satisfied with my new look thou it may nt look obvious to all. The hair stylist is very friendly and chatty esp helpful in answering wj's countless qns on her new hairstyle she wanna have...(thou i feel this made him abit distracted while cutting my hair hahaha...scared..) Left the place ard 430pm thinking of where to fill our stomach since we onli had pastry for klunch. we tot of the XO fishhead mifen at holland V but we simply cldnt find it haha so we had to take another bus to west mall reaching there ard 530pm in time to catch the repeat of Hai you min tian II on the cool plasma tv at the new revamped foodcourt. I had my usual yong tau foo while wj tried the new stall of ramen, Ban mian (thou she ordered E-mee, every1 called it the Ban mian). I guess we r both too hungry n the food r quite delicious that our bowls were completely empty in the end haha. Went to shop ard west mall...again for me coz i juz been there the day b4 to watch a movie. N back to the food court again to catch Happy Fish and cuppa kopi C haha..taste as good as HANS! think that's the nicest part of the day sharing good food n good tv spot and good coffee haha...we went home ard 830pm and stood at the bus stop to snap photos with our hp haha so siao... but anyway the photos turned out ok to be put as image for incoming calls so that the caller's face wld be displayed.

Anyway...my unlucky day had nt ended for me juz yet... came home wanna play some maple story onli to find that there is another patch and it juz wun work for me....sianz...now downloading the new setup.exe that is 174MB and takes another 5 hrs to complete..SIANZ...guess its time to stop my escape from my Disstn ...sobz...

Hope my 2005 wun be so unlucky .....fingers crossed.....

My New Handphone

As stated in the title, i finally got my dream phone!! nokia 6230 in case u dunnoe yet...there's much twists and turns that i decided to blog it haha...as mentioned in an earlier blog, i have this starhub $100 discount voucher that stated clearly that it cld only be used in starhub shops namely the PS, tampines mall and UOB centre ones...and the prx of the hp there is $428 way above my budget..so xmas day itself, i wish for some miracle as i scan the straits times for hp ads... n there it was! a starhub outlet featuring the phone at $298 but its at partner outlet toa payoh. so i called the starhub hotline and asked whether its really confirmed that my voucher cant be used at those partner outlets and the operator said yah...in the midst of disapptment, i saw another ad featuring a roadshow at Jurong Point stating that starhub vouchers can be used there so I got my boyfriend to make an inquiry at the roadshow for my phone and i heard the best news of the day that i cld use my voucher and that the roadshow sells the phone at $298 hee... coz im having terrible sore throat i din go immediately and waited for the next day... an di did the stupid thing of calling singtel to terminate my existing line in the hope that they will give me freebies to retain this loyal customer of 4 yrs...but NO lo...the operator coolly told me that it will take 3 working days to terminate my line...chey..

So, on the next day (sunday) i went to JP to sign up for the phone with regrets of termination since i forgot that i can do number retention... and i received the terrible news from my boyfriend (who went there earlier) that my phone is out of stock!...However....when i went to ask that sales guy, he said there's 2 more pieces left...hahahah false alarm...guess he dun reallie like my boyfriend or coz he asked too many qns le...haha Anyway i quickly sign up for the new line and the whole process took ard half an hr or more with him filling up forms and setting up the phone for me to recieve mms and etc... and finally at ard 145pm i made my 1st call with my brand new phone wahahaha.... However the stupid thing is the salesperson say i cant do no. retention at the roadshow and had to go to any starhub shops to do that which i think is ok at the mmt as i haven called singtel to cancel my action of termination ha... so with that my existing line is still alive and working. The rest of the day was spent exploring the phone and trying to transfer my mp3 music into the 32mb card..which is simply nt eunff..planning to get a 256mb card soon..

the frustrating thing is that when i called starhub hotline again this time to ask abt no. retention the person actually say i cant do anything now since i nvr did that during the pt of sign-up.. this is so ridiculous that different ppl r telling different stuff and MOST of the time the hotline operators are telling me the crap and wrong stuff.. i dun believe her at all and called a nearby starhub outlet at bukit panjang plaza(i realised later that every outlet say starhub vouchers cld be used there and they r selling at 298 too...) to ask abt it, the gal said they cant do it at their shops but i cld go to PS to apply. THis... i believe haha...

So off i went to PS the next day (tuesday) and finally settled everything though i have to wait for 5 days to activate my starhub account coz mine was signed up at a roadshow and another 7 working days to apply for no. retention... so in the end, i had to wait till 12th or 13th Jan due to the holidays and weekends for my old line to be terminated finally.

I guess all these mafan-ness cld be compensated with the fact that i finally got my dream phone haha...a rather senseless blog haha but juz a record for the troubles of getting it..

Xmas Eve gathering

i tot i wun be going out on xmas eve, since im nt feeling too well with a sore throat and my boyfriend & me were busying trying to 'level up' in maplestory (an online game)ha...but my twin called me on thusday and asked me if i wld be free to meet up fo dinner on xmas eve. So i agreed since i wun be the one org it ha..but she meant it as a small gathering (which limits to wad her car cld carry ha) so there's onli 5 of us, out of the original 6 she proposed( my best friend was not feeling well with her headaches n so cld nt join us)

we met at clementi ard 540pm and drove to changi yacht club, this time with much success compared to the previous time we went there ha..CY was aslep the whole journey and when we were stopping at the Changi yacht club carpark to get the pass, she suddenly woke up n tot we reached le and open her side of the door..we were stunned b4 bursting out in laughters haha. We got there b4 7pm in time to see the beautiful sun set and of course the frequent air planes flying past. The waiter brought us to an outdoor table near the small hut where they display their fresh seafood for ppl to order. this is surely my 1st time dining on a sandy grd andso near the sea ha...We took some photos with those rocks by the seaside and went to examine the fresh seafood, saw this really HUGE prawn that jimmy made a comment that the prawn muz haf felt real sad to grow this big and yet cant upgrade to a lobster ha... we settled for sting ray though and ordered kai lan, foo yong egg, beef with garlic and mee goreng. the food was good like last time thou the beef was not as good as the venison we ate last time. we ordered desserts, fried pandan ice-cream? forgot the name le and banana split which tasted good too. overall, we spent ard 20 bucks each and sat there till 9pm while chatting.

I din noe that this is sorta of a farewell dinner for jimmy too who is leaving on tuesday 28th coz i had always tot that he's leaving in january haha... so we were talking abt how he is going to adapt there and of coz if he is going to continue maple story over there hahaha...after we settled the bill ( with JJ's new OUB ladies card yeah) we went to the playgrd n played on the swings. its damn funny to hear CY screaming when jimmy went to push her coz she was remaining on grd level haha..she said she'a afraid of hts haha...guess im the onli fearless female ard on the swing since the queen of daredevil acts is nt ard haha(WJ).

Next gotta decide where to go for countdown, while jimmy was promoting his west coast park me tot of going geylang for soya bean curd (yummy)...but when we passed by east coast park, jj made a decisive turn into it and wala! we discoverd the IN place with tents and 24hr partying...there's cars everywhere and ppl n tents!!! It took us quite awhile to find a parking lot and jimmy the instructor had to direct the parking personally for JJ to safely parked her car in the challenging slot haha.

WE settled down in one the cafes there Gelare cafe and stayed down till countdown which is really nothing as ppl ard continue to eat their steamboat and sipping their beer or coffee. but east coast park has realli become a IN place as there are so many campers ard. however the toilets cld have been better, the old gruanchy uncle attendent at the toilet was so fierce when he collected our 20c and his toilet aint very clean in the 1st place. pissed....

Finally we were on our way home after repeated toilet trips from drinking too much water at ard 1245am and since my home is nearest to JJ im the last drop. im so sleepy by the time i returned home ard 2am. But this is one cosy xmas countdown which i truly enjoyed and will remembered it.

Merry Xmas and Happy new yr!

to be contnued....
